Our philosophy at Griha Shiksha is to provide education for children that ensures true holistic development in their early years. This is effectively done through interactive, activity-based learning methods that make it enjoyable for both the learner as well as the teacher.

 

In both LKG and UKG, our focus is on teaching children concepts and topics thematically, thus creating the building blocks and structures for future learning. This helps them develop immense confidence, which comes from a strong foundation.

 

One of the aims of this programme is to make learning fun for both the children as well as the teachers. When learning is fun, lessons are retained better and longer. As adults, let us not make learning a burden for our children. We may have the notion that if something is fun, the child will not learn. In reality, it’s the exact opposite. Such learning has proven to be more effective. If you as a teacher enjoy the process, your child will learn to enjoy it too.

The curriculum has been designed in such a way that children are
exposed to a variety of activities across each theme. Since each child is created differently with unique skills and abilities, their ways of learning and interacting with the world also differ. Some children are more visually stimulated, some more musically inclined, some more verbally oriented, some more mathematically and so on.

 

Our curriculum aims to present information in a way that ensures children are given the tools to understand and internalize
concepts, irrespective of the way they learn. Therefore, each concept is taught through pictorial teaching aids, rhymes, stories, art and craft, outdoor play, indoor activities (using material found at home), worksheets and oral discussions.

Each of the themes have been planned out in great detail to ensure that even a person with very little teaching experience will be able to—not only execute—but also enjoy the process of teaching. Minimal prep time is necessary. However, you will also find that within the broad framework provided, there is scope for you to be as creative as you would like. You will get to know your child even better as you explore these themes together, and this will give you further opportunity to adapt the curriculum to their individual
tastes.
 

The LKG and UKG programmes each consist of 36 weeks of theme-based activity and Grade 1 to 3, follows the subject from CBSE curriculum but with lesson plans that aligns with our philosophy and methodology.

 

A study package is sent to the home address which includes text and workbooks. Assistance is given to parents in need. The programme offers evaluation once in three months.
