The mission of Griha Shiksha is to provide a homeschooling programme for Indian families, with materials and support which makes it a valuable experience for the children and their parents.
To integrate learning and fun with thematic lessons that enables parents to spend valuable time with their children, while their child learns.
Who we are
Griha Shiksha was begun by Interserve Partners in the early 1990s. The materials were all handmade by volunteers. Children who studied through Griha Shiksha are now adults in many professions including law, medicine, information technology and education.
In the mid 2000’s the curriculum was revised to match the expectations of the CBSE curriculum. Parents were given guidance on how to teach from the CBSE books available in the market. In 2014 Griha Shiksha began the process of writing its own material, still with the objective of meeting the standards set by CBSE. The new Griha Shiksha material was presented in a thematic format so that the learning objectives were presented through rhymes, reading, maths problems and games.

She specialises in supporting children with Learning Disabilities and training teachers and others in helping children with Dyslexia. The parent manual for parents is prepared and designed in a very helpful, practical way which makes it very easy for parents to apply and follow. It saves so much time, so you don’t need to prepare your own lesson plans. Another thing we like about Griha Shiksha homeschooling curriculum is that it is not burdensome and heavy for children and you can adjust it according to each child’s learning ability and speed. Our kids also love that they have art and crafts and story time every day.

"We started this homeschool journey in 2019 when my son was in grade 2. When we decided to homeschool our kid we didn't know where and how to start. We learnt about Good Word Trust and their Griha Shiksha homeschool programme and approached them for help.
