LEARN
We use an integrated approach of learning where a child is able to apply their understanding effectively. Let your child learn at his/her own pace.
BOND
We provide an opportunity for you, as parents to spend valuable time with your children, while your child/ren learns.
GROW
We place emphasis on holistic growth. We provide you with the resources that you, as the parent, can use to teach the right values, morals from an early age.
To enable families to spend quality time together, to see young children grow and learn, to encourage children to have a positive learning or educational experience.
The mission of Griha Shiksha is to provide a homeschooling programme for Indian families, with materials and support which makes it a valuable experience for the children and their parents.
To integrate learning and fun with thematic lessons that enables parents to spend valuable time with their children, while their child learns.
Who we are
Griha Shiksha was begun by Interserve Partners in the early 1990s. The materials were all handmade by volunteers. Children who studied through Griha Shiksha are now adults in many professions including law, medicine, information technology and education.
In the mid 2000’s the curriculum was revised to match the expectations of the CBSE curriculum. Parents were given guidance on how to teach from the CBSE books available in the market. In 2014 Griha Shiksha began the process of writing its own material, still with the objective of meeting the standards set by CBSE. The new Griha Shiksha material was presented in a thematic format so that the learning objectives were presented through rhymes, reading, maths problems and games.

Testimonials
Ranjeet and Gulbahor Singh
Our 8 year old daughter and 6 year old son joined Griha Shiksha in 2019. It is a blessing for us as a family to be part of this amazing program. Our children were counting days for the postman to ring the bell and deliver the parcel with books. They were looking forward to starting a new school. They both enjoyed homeschooling from day one. After the 1st day of school they said we must call our school FUN School because we have so much fun here. So we named our school “FUN School – Fun Unique Natural School”.
The parent manual for parents is prepared and designed in a very helpful, practical way which makes it very easy for parents to apply and follow. It saves so much time, so you don’t need to prepare your own lesson plans. Another thing we like about Griha Shiksha homeschooling curriculum is that it is not burdensome and heavy for children and you can adjust it according to each child’s learning ability and speed. Our kids also love that they have art and crafts and story time every day.

"We started this homeschool journey in 2019 when my son was in grade 2. When we decided to homeschool our kid we didn't know where and how to start. We learnt about Good Word Trust and their Griha Shiksha homeschool programme and approached them for help. They helped us in every way they could, providing study materials etc. We as parents learnt a lot from the workshop they conducted in November 2019. We had an opportunity to meet other homeschooling parents.
The resource persons shared a lot of concepts. It was absolutely an eye opener as new homeschooling parents. Homeschooling has given us a great opportunity to get close to God and to learn his Word as a family. Our son has learnt to see his studies as a pleasure and not as a burden anymore. Many thanks to Griha Shiksha."

GS had been an answer to our prayers. It not only met the academic standards but also had a lot of extracurricular activities, nature walks and small projects, things that a child would not get in a regular school program. Both our sons, Ashwin and Abhishek had absolutely no problems in qualifying for the entrance test in a regular school
Dr. Shantanu Dutta
My daughter, Aruna, studied in GS for a year and this experience has had a lasting impact on her and me. She has been the best student in Mount Carmel School and was quite actively involved in extra and co-curricular activities. For all this we give credit to GS
Dr. Uttam Mohapatra
I like the way GS slowly builds up to higher-levels of academics. It is all gradual. The work allows one to be flexible which is lacking in our mainstream education. My daughter, Nisha, has many fond memories of GS and is now doing very well in regular school.
